Adding a Project to your Database
Say you want to add a Project to your Database. The Project may not be in Reed Connect but you want it to be in your Company’s database on the Connect system. Note that any Projects you add are available for viewing only by your Company and its Users of Connect. Other Companies do not see it and Reed does not use it as a lead source. It is strictly your Project.
To start, put your cursor over PROJECT and select Add Project:
The following screen opens in which you can type as much information as you know.
The Project Detail page comes up with an assigned Project ID. Note that the Project ID is different fromReed’s 10 digit Project IDs so you will be able to quickly recognize your Added Project in a List View.
As the Project advances, click on Edit to update your information. The Add/Edit Project screen opens and you can make your changes and add information.
Having Saved your changes the amended Project Detail page comes up.
As you add your own Projects, you can search for them from the Project Search screen by changing User Entered Projects to Yes.
Your List View results display.
If you leave the User Entered Projects blank (default) your List View results from a search will include both RCD entered Projects and your Added Projects. As mentioned you can quickly identify the user entered projects by the length of the Project ID.
Say for example you ran a Search for Projects in Georgia bidding on January 9, 2007, your List View results would look like this.
There are various reasons why you might want to add your own Projects. It could be a Project that Reed does not cover like Equipment Installation or it may be a Project that is outside your Profile and you cannot normally see it.
Remember though that when you can’t find a Project on Reed Connect the first thing you should do is call your Account Manager. Your Account Manager or Customer Care may be able to find the Project for you (we may have it under a different name for example). If it can’t be found we will get with our Researchers who will get with their Sources and start following the Project.
