Saved Project Searches and Hotlist Searches
A Saved Search is an excellent way to expedite your time on the Reed Connect site and get to the information you need as fast as possible.
In this example we have saved a Search called GA Offices in Planning.
Step 1
Make your selections. Here we have selected GA from the State Field/Masterplanning through Working Drawings in the Phase Field/Offices in the Categories Field.
Step 2
In the ‘Save This Search As’ field at the top in the middle, name the Search so that it can be identified, then click on the Save button beside it.
Step 3
The Saved Search shows up under “My Saved Project Searches” on the top left, for future reference. Click on the Saved Search you want to run and then click on the Load button to bring up these Saved parameters for your Search. As you work with the Saved Search, you will want to fill in the Date fields to obtain appropriate current information — use the Update field for Projects that have been updated since the date you choose. Click on Search.
Step 4
If you want to add this Search to your Hot List Searches, click on the Hot List Box above the Save button. This will add the Search to your Home Page under My Hotlist Searches. By having the Search as a Hotlist Search on your Home page, you can run the Search directly from your Home page and obtain your results without having to go to the Search Projects screen.
One thing to remember when you run a Search from your My Hotlist Searches is that once you obtain your results you may want to make a change to the search. For example, if you saved the Search with an Update Date in it, you may want to change this Update Date so that you obtain more current information. When you get your Hotlist Search results, click on the Modify Search button.
This will take you back to your Search Project screen where you can amend the Update Date to a more recent date. Once you have made this change, click on the Save button again (you do not change the Name of the Search). Now your Search has a more current date associated with it and you can run it to get the more current results. Also, you will be able to use the Modify Search button to look at the parameters of the Search and see what date you last used.
