Scheduled Email
You can define a Scheduled Email from the Project Search page in Reed Connect. The results of this search are emailed to you weekly on Mondays. The email reflects the updates since the last time the Scheduled Email ran. Five Scheduled Emails are available per user.
Note: You must first have a valid email address to receive the Scheduled Email. The Scheduled Email is sent to the email address that you specify on the User Preferences page located under the ‘My Account’ pull-down menu OR more commonly, as was originally set up by Reed when you started as a User.
In addition to entering your email address on the User Preferences screen, you can define the preferred email method, HTML or Plain Text. HTML email messages sent by Connect will contain hyperlinks. Plain Text email messages will not. You want HTML.

To define a Scheduled Email on the Project Search page
Navigate to your Project Search page.
Select Scheduled Email from the Delivery Method drop-down list.
The number next to Scheduled Email denotes the number of Scheduled Emails that you have defined. The number (0 of 5 used) denotes that a Scheduled Email has not been defined. The number (1 of 5 used) denotes that 1 Scheduled Email has been defined.
Enter your search criteria in the search boxes. This would be done the same way you would set up an Online Search. You will want your Scheduled Email Search to reflect project results that are most important to you and the Search would be one that you run regularly. For example, say you will always want to see Hospitals, over $5,000,000, in Georgia that have been updated in the last 7 days; you would select Georgia from the State field, Hospitals from the Category field, fill in 5000000 in the Min Value field and the default Update Date would be 7 Days.
When you select Scheduled Email, the Record Date, Update Date, and Bid Date Min and Max fields are grayed out and are not available with a Scheduled Email. The Update Date Range and Bid Date Range are defined below.
The Update Date Range defaults to the Last 7 days. This is because you receive the Scheduled Email weekly and you want to see what has occurred since your last Scheduled Email a week ago.
Sample Step: you may define a Bid Date Range from the available drop-down options of Next 7 days, Next 14 days, or Next 30 days. The bid date description of your Scheduled Email allows you to look forward for projects that have an approaching bid date.
Note: If a bid date is selected from the Bid Date Range drop-down list and the search is run as a Scheduled Email, the data selection for the Scheduled Email is based on the Bid Date Range. The email is based from the current date that the search is run. The Update Date Range is not used in the search when the Bid Date range is selected.
Type a name for your Search in the
box. An example name for the saved Scheduled Email Search would be “GA Hospitals Planning $5mil”. You might want to put “SE” after the name so that you can identify which Saved Search is a Scheduled Email from those that are Online Searches.
Click Save to save the Scheduled Email.
You will now note that your Scheduled Email Search is listed on your Home Page under Scheduled Emails. Your Scheduled Email will also be listed on the Project Search page under My Saved Project Searches. When you click on your Scheduled Email Search and Load it, the Delivery Method will show Scheduled Email (1 of 5 used).
When you receive the Email on Mondays it will be from “connectemailnoreply@reedbusiness.com” and the Subject Line will read “Scheduled Email — GA Hospitals Planning $5mill — date”. Open the Email to obtain:
In the email you click on the Project Name link to take you to Connect. The first time you do this you will have to log into Connect. Once in Connect when you click on the Title of the Project you will be taken to the Project Detail for the Project you have selected from your email.
For each Scheduled Email that you put together you will receive a separate email on Monday named according to the Scheduled Email search you put together.
